Over the last three years, the Centre for Substance Use Research has received funding from a range of companies in relation to its programme of regulatory science focussed tobacco harm reduction studies. In particular, funding has been received from Philip Morris International, British American Tobacco, JUUL Labs, Fontem Ventures, Nicoventures, and NJOY. The research supported by these funders is solely focussed on assessing the impact of electronic nicotine delivery systems (e-cigarette, heated tobacco products) as a means of enabling smokers to quit using combustible cigarettes. None of CSUR's past, current, or future studies are oriented towards promoting cigarette smoking.
